Europe Books is proud to present: “A Troubled Town on Wander Down Creek Stories From Around the Campfire”, a book by DINGWALL ALLAN

Today we talk about A Troubled Town on Wander Down Creek Stories From Around the Campfire, a book by DINGWALL ALLAN published with our publishing house Europe Books.

Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author DINGWALL ALLAN to get to know him better, if what prompted him to the writing of his book of A Troubled Town on Wander Down Creek Stories From Around the Campfire, as well as the significant stories are told in his book.

Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!

  • What prompted you to writing your book?

It was the thought of a story that needed to be told. This concerned the pilfering of the world’s wildlife that is taking place every day on a worldwide scale and with each passing year it’s growing in monetary value. It needs to be stopped. I thought if I could draw world attention to the trade, I would be accomplishing at least something towards the prevention of this heinous act. I realised my story would need to contain unforgettable, convincing characters that Australiana could offer to my readers. They are to find my characters to be both entertaining and devious as each player came with their own story and added their experiences to the pages of the book. The short stories playing off each other produces fresh scenery allowing the reader to escape into the imaginative world occupied by my characters where they live out their convincing stories via a red loam, outback town with the strange sounding name of “Hereabout”.

  • What is the message you want to convey to your readers?

I wish to draw to the attention of others on how the worlds wildlife, Australia included, is being plundered by those who see our Wildlife, not as the creation of something beautiful, but as currency towards an opportunity to enhance their own financial lifestyle. Their criminal motto being “take the risk and enjoy the reward”. When a Wildlife trafficker happens to be caught, they receive little in way of punishment, so I need to draw my reader’s attention to the obvious and that is, that our Wildlife is suffering to the point where many threatened species have radically diminished. When reading this story, I want to create within the reader’s mind a cinemascope of moving pictures that will place them at the fore front of this story. Here, they can experience the realistic damage being done to the animals, caught up in this hideous trade, that others carry out to earn an illegally obtained income.

  • What significant stories find expression in your book?

The significant expression in my story is to draw the reader into a world of fantasy whereby one could find their own solitude within the lines of a well told story. This is why my stories are titled “Campfire Stories” as they take the reader close to nature and allows them to embrace and enjoy the outside world whilst reclining on a comfortable settee with the family cat or poodle curled up on a mat. Personally, I must consent to the purpose of each line before it ever becomes a sentence, for if it never ignited my own imagination to picture form description it is rejected as lacking the description I seek in telling my story. So, to ask me what was significant with my thoughts and feelings at the time of writing my novel I would have to confess it would be to release with each page a storyline that entertains my readers and keeps them interested and absorbed in my characters which hopefully bodes well in them enjoying the entire story.

  • Are you working on a new writing project, you can tell us about?

Yes, I have completed the sequel to “A Troubled Town on Wander Down Creek”. The sequel was written whilst the storyline of the first novel was fresh in my mind. If you are thinking you might have some idea how this storyline might travel, I can tell you now, it is a well-kept secret. I have freshened the story line by adding a new thought-provoking theme, new characters, as well as old favourites. The reader will find our invited new guests to be amusing, adventurous, annoying, and at times extremely stubborn. It will be a completely different book, but it will never lose sight of the original plot, although the reader will find it different in so many ways. Enough is enough. For the moment we can only wait with bated breath and anxious wonder. Too many hidden plot twists given carelessly away by an exuberant author would only dampen future surprises.  More to be revealed soon.

Europe Books thanks the author DINGWALL ALLAN once again for taking the time and answering our questions. We are really pleased to have walked alongside him on the editorial path that led to the publication of his book A Troubled Town on Wander Down Creek Stories From Around the Campfire. We wish him the best of luck for his book and for his future works.

To you, my dear reader, I hope this book piques your interest and draws your attention to the phenomenon of wildlife trafficking and the illegal income it generates. If this book can inspire some of its readers to take action to prevent this from happening, it will certainly have accomplished something good!

So, my dear reader, all I have to say is to enjoy your reading!

Your Editor!
