- What prompted you to the writing of your book?
My journey to writing my children’s poem is deeply rooted in my passions and experiences. From a young age, I’ve always loved acting and literature, which inspired my creative expression. As a counsellor, I’ve developed a keen understanding of emotions and the importance of storytelling in connecting with others, especially children. My background in drama has influenced my ability to craft engaging narratives and characters that resonate with young readers. Writing has been a way for me to share valuable lessons about self-discovery and personal growth—themes that are crucial in both my counselling work and creative writing. This long-standing love for writing, combined with my professional insights, motivated me to create a poem that not only entertains but also nurtures the emotional development of children. I believe this blend of my personal interests and professional skills makes my book a unique contribution to children’s literature.”
- What characteristics your audience should have to appreciate your book?
As readers engage with my book, ‘Children’s Poam,’ I want them to recognize several key characteristics that embody the essence of what I aim to convey. First and foremost, the book celebrates the art of learning through song, emphasizing how music can transform the learning experience into something joyful and memorable. I believe that when children learn in a playful and engaging manner, they are much more likely to absorb and retain new concepts, and this is a fundamental principle woven throughout the pages. Additionally, the poem illustrates the importance of speaking and expressing oneself through writing, highlighting how language can be a powerful tool for communication and creativity. I want the audience to see that writing is not just an academic task but also a delightful journey of self-expression that allows children to explore their thoughts, feelings, and imaginations. Moreover, I aim to infuse a sense of fun into the learning process, demonstrating that education doesn’t have to be a chore. Instead, it can be an adventure filled with vibrant words and playful rhythms that make the experience enjoyable. By weaving these elements together, I hope to inspire a love for learning in young readers, encouraging them to embrace education as a lifelong pursuit filled with curiosity and excitement.”
- What messages did you want to convey with your book?
Through my book, ‘Children’s Poam,’ I want to convey a powerful message about the transformative nature of learning, emphasizing that education can and should be an enjoyable and enriching experience that sparks curiosity and creativity in young minds. I believe that by integrating the joy of music and song into the learning process, children can develop a deeper connection to the material they are studying, allowing them to not only grasp concepts more effectively but also to find a sense of joy and excitement in the journey of discovery. Additionally, I aim to highlight the significance of self-expression through writing and speaking, conveying to my young readers that their voices matter and that they have the ability to share their thoughts and feelings with the world in meaningful ways. By encouraging them to embrace writing as a form of creativity and a tool for communication, I hope to instil in them a sense of confidence and empowerment that will serve them well throughout their lives. Furthermore, I want to stress that learning is not just about rote memorization or following strict guidelines; rather, it can be a playful and imaginative adventure that invites exploration and experimentation. By presenting educational concepts in a fun and engaging manner, I aspire to create an atmosphere where children feel inspired to ask questions, seek answers, and approach the world around them with an open mind and a joyful heart, ultimately nurturing a lifelong love for learning that will accompany them well beyond the pages of my book.”
- How did it feel to see your book published?
I cannot begin to express the overwhelming sense of joy and fulfilment I felt when I saw my book, ‘Children’s Poam,’ finally published by Europe Books, as this moment represented not only the culmination of years of hard work and dedication but also the realization of a dream that I held close to my heart for so long. The excitement that surged through me as I held the physical copy of my book in my hands was indescribable, as I reflected on the countless hours spent crafting the words, pouring my passion for learning and creativity into every page, and envisioning the impact it could have on young readers. Seeing my ideas and aspirations transformed into a tangible book felt like a validation of my journey as both a counsellor and a writer, reminding me of the importance of following one’s passions and believing in the power of storytelling to inspire and educate. It was a moment filled with gratitude, as I recognized the support of those who believed in my vision and encouraged me along the way, and I felt a deep sense of connection to all the children who would eventually read my book, hoping that it would bring them joy and ignite their love for learning. In that instant, I was filled with a profound sense of purpose, knowing that my work had the potential to make a difference in the lives of young readers, and I could hardly contain my excitement as I imagined the adventures they would embark on through the art of learning in song, writing, and playful exploration. The publication of ‘Children’s Poam’ marks not just a personal achievement for me, but also the beginning of a wonderful journey that I hope will resonate with children and parents alike, spreading the joy of learning far and wide.
- Are you working on a new writing project you can tell us about?
I’ve been working really hard on my new project, and I’m honestly loving every part of the journey. It’s a sci-fi story and feels a bit more adult compared to my last book, which makes it even more exciting to write. The title is The Boy with the Cure, and it follows a boy who has OCD and ends up creating a homemade cleaning product that turns out to be the ultimate cure — something that mankind has been searching for all along. The whole concept has been such a fascinating world to build, and I’m finding so much joy and passion in bringing it to life. Writing this new book has reminded me why I love storytelling so much, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me next.
