Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author Kanyinebi Banye Mmobuosi to get to know him better, what prompted him to the writing of his book of Endless Search, as well as how it felt to see his book published.
Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!
- What prompted you to the writing of your book?
The present day human, the Homo Sapiens has come a long way… from being the only survivor among the genus, Homo to his present status. This has made him to dominate the Earth planet and made him to step out into space; maybe to determine if there could be anything anywhere in the cosmos like him. The only thing that has really eluded him is immortality despite his advancement in medicine. Right from the time I started asking questions about man’s sojourn on Earth, one of the questions that has perplexed me was, why is the Earth not a permanent home for man? For man to live forever he must conquer disease, hunger, poverty and be advanced enough to begin to feel like a god. Gods we believe are immortal. Man is approaching that threshold and it is not too early to start asking questions about immortality for him. Is it possible to rediscover the Garden of Eden and determine if finding the Tree of Life would lead to conquering death. These views were the motivating factors that led me to write this book… Endless Search.
- What characteristics your audience should have to appreciate your book?
(i) Open mindedness
(ii) Independent approach in thinking
(iii) Capacity to learn
The desire to have an answer to the question of immortality may attract people to this book. The book takes us to the time when God said, “Let there be light.”(the Holy Bible). The book also reflects on the Garden of Eden and sees what transpired there as a part of our everyday experience and the harshness of life when man lost this heritage. He had to battle the stark reality of existence. Eden was a deathless environment but man in his ignorance and naivety was misguided and he started looking for what he already had. To regain immortality he must rediscover the Garden of Eden to be able to wear that mantle of innocence and freedom. These can only be enabled by God, Himself. There cannot be any conclusive statement in respect of going back to claim what man lost in losing the Paradise that was the Garden of Eden. So in trying to fix it we must be open minded, independent in our thinking to be able to contribute our own quota. In doing so we are able to enlarge our capacity to learn and embrace new ideas.
- What messages did you want to convey with your book?
Man must work towards becoming a perfect being in order to realize his true self. Science has done so much for man… freeing him from ignorance and the shame of not knowing the truth. The ocean has been explored. Space is being explored and the macrocosm is well understood. The world of the very small, the microcosm has been blown open. That within the atom are large numbers of infinitely smaller particles like quirks, tachyon is most fascinating and amazing. Tachyon, though not finally isolated but mathematically identified, would open a new world of technology. Imagine one of the properties of tachyon being that its speed increases with a decrease in energy. When the energy approaches zero its velocity approaches infinity. Man has indeed not completely discovered himself… that he is a conscious being has not been fully articulated. This has been one of those aspects of his existence that still confounds him. He still thinks and is not even sure if his guess is right… that the neurons act like biological machines and combine to induce consciousness. Consciousness is an attribute of nature. Without consciousness there is no world, no science and even no self. We have indeed come a long way and we should open our minds to accepting that man is becoming like the gods and immortality should become our heritage. But we cannot just assume it. Time would definitely bestow it upon us some day… there must be a generation when immortality would be a reality. Endless Search sees this as the ultimate hope of mankind.
- How did it feel to see your book published?
It gave me a feeling of satisfaction and the opportunity to bring the way I feel about human existence to a bigger audience. Endless Search challenged me to think deeply because it aimed at answering a question that has taken me to a feeling that conjured up God to my reality. We can only be immortal when we become like God. How possible can this be? This book must have aroused a curiosity that would keep us thinking for a long time. Someday some of us may come together to dialect on the subject of immortality. By that time more facts must have been thrown up by science. The Christian holy book, the Bible, tells us stories that are difficult to understand even though they seem simple. Science with its empiricism will open deeper regions of the human mind/brain particularly the subconscious mind where the connection between the physical and the spiritual may be waiting for us to explore.
- Are you working on a new writing project you can tell us about?
Yes. There is a book that is nearing completion but must be made to conform to the thinking that unfolds everyday. More worlds have been discovered within and outside our solar system and galaxy because of enhanced technology… tachyon technology. Light years could now be traversed within hours by our measurement here on Earth. While waiting for immortality people on Earth have introduced their religions because it was only on Earth that religion meant so much to the people. In other worlds religion was very personal and never allowed to impinge on the lives of the people. Different religious groups have sent people to evangelise the other worlds. The horned wizards were out to make sure this did not happen. They got infuriated when the worlds eventually set up a committee to identify one religion and a holy book that could be adapted for all the worlds. The intrigues that followed were unimaginable and kept the worlds on their toes.
