Europe Books is proud to present “Nature Cures. Trusting the biomolecules” a book by Swati Save

An Ode to Nature, the treasure trove of medical breakthroughs & discoveries

In a remarkable celebration of nature’s boundless healing potential, the book Nature Cures: Trusting the Biomolecules unveils a treasure trove of scientific and traditional wisdom. This groundbreaking work, authored by 12 pioneering women scientists from the Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (formerly RRL Jammu), illuminates the transformative power of nature’s medicinal ecosystem.

A Journey Through Nature’s Healing Treasures

Emerging from the heart of the Himalayas, this book serves as an ode to the extraordinary biodiversity of medicinal plants, herbs, spices, ocean algae, and microorganisms. Drawing from decades of research on ashwagandha, turmeric, tulsi, german chamomile, aloe vera, aegle marmalus (Bael), saffron, lavender, and neem, etc., the book highlights the profound impact these natural remedies have on modern medicine. In the 1960s, a small institute in Jammu and Kashmir RRL Jammu (a CSIR Laboratory) began exploring the therapeutic potential of indigenous flora. Over time, these studies have contributed to a wealth of publications and patents in biotechnology, medicinal chemistry, immunology, and biochemistry, positioning the institute at the forefront of medicinal research in India & abroad. This book celebrates these advancements of this institute now named the Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM Jammu), showcasing the essential role of nature’s compounds in combating various ailments and promoting health.

Endorsements from eminent Elders

The book has garnered acclaim from prominent figures in the scientific and medical communities. Endorsed by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ellen Sirleaf and featuring a prologue by Dr. Anna Marie Clement of the Hippocrates Health Institute, Florida, the book underscores the significant impact of its research. Gauri Das, National President of the Future of Work Council at WICCI, praises the book for integrating traditional wisdom with modern science. She states, “This compelling work encourages readers to value the wisdom of nature’s resources while embracing contemporary scientific advancements.”

Voices from the Scientific Community

Several distinguished women scientists have reviewed the book, offering high praise for its comprehensive exploration of medicinal plants:

  • Prof. Shilpi Sharma of IIT Delhi describes it as “An enthralling compilation of nature’s diverse flora, providing a systematic account of their significance in curing ailments, particularly from the magical regions of the Himalayas.”
  • Prof. Namrita Lall from the University of Pretoria notes, “This book is an invaluable resource for researchers, offering insights into the scientific validation and utilization of medicinal plants from diverse ecological sources.”

A Call to Action for Future Health

In light of recent global health crises and environmental changes, the authors emphasize the urgency of revisiting natural remedies. With the COVID-19 pandemic and rising health issues highlighting the limitations of synthetic approaches, there is a pressing need to harness nature’s potential for innovative medical solutions.

A Celebration of Women in STEMM

The collaborative effort of 12 women scientists highlights the growing movement to empower women in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine). Their joint work not only celebrates their contributions but also advances the representation of women in scientific research.

Visually Captivating and Accessible

Nature Cures is not just a scientific reference but a visual journey through the Himalayan region, featuring 26 original photographs of rare & indigenous plants and flowers. This collection enriches the reading experience and underscores the ecological & medicinal significance of Himalayan ranges.
