Europe Books presents “The Omega Apparatus”. Let’s meet the author, Raul Martinez, and discover all he has to say about his book!

Today we talk about The Omega Apparatus, a book by Raul Martinez published with our publishing house Europe Books.

Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author Raul Martinez to get to know him better, where he found the inspiration that led him to the writing of his book The Omega Apparatus, as well as how his passion for writing started.

Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!

  • What was the moment that prompted you to the writing of your book?

The moment that prompted me to write The Omega Apparatus was back in 2022 when I was between jobs. I had low morale after contracting COVID-19 twice and felt that I had to do something monumental with my life. Especially, after being so close to death when I was sick with the virus. When I wasn’t busy looking for work, I would dedicate several hours a day to the book by adding, modifying and removing bits of it. Sometimes, I would spend so much time and effort on it, that I would finish a crude version of a chapter in just one day. I would eat something small and have a glass of water at my desk without getting up for hours. Sometimes, I would even forget to eat and drink. I really pushed forward with finishing the story and sought to publish after my mother passed away the same year. I made a promise at her gravesite and I’m very glad that I could keep my word. I wanted a story of a guy and his sacrifice for the good of not only our world, but the whole universe as well.

  • What characteristics your audience should have to appreciate your book?

Ideally, the characteristics my audience should have to appreciate and grasp my book are just to be human, have a good heart, love sci-fi thrillers and/or want to change our society for the better. I really don’t expect for everyone to have a taste for this genre but I do ask for them to give it a chance and have an open mind. I strongly believe that even people that lean more towards historical and science-based books would appreciate a story of how good triumphs over evil. I would love for my audience to take some of the words and actions from my book and implement them in their daily lives, so that we can thrive and improve every aspect of our race. I believe that everyone in the audience is capable of love, good deeds, cleanliness, order, justice and strength to do it all. I just hope my book inspires all of our fellow earthlings to do so.

  • How would you describe your writing style?

I would describe my writing style as a mix of things and would not really put myself in any particular category. I would definitely agree that I tend to have a freestyle type of narrative writing, but I also like to explore and take a bit of everything else to add flavour to it all. I also try to be descriptive in my storytelling, but I like to leave some space for my audience to add things themselves with their imagination. This triggers critical thinking, exercises the mind and generates questions that can be exchanged with other readers. This can even create different scenarios within my own story and has the potential to make The Omega Apparatus even more exciting. I try not to limit my style or my audience.

  • How did you choose the title of your book?

In choosing the title of my book, I perused through many holy scriptures, Greek and Roman Mythology and symbology of many cultures. After a thorough amount research, brainstorming and experimenting with the name, I concluded that I wanted to use something similar to a verse from the book of Revelations in the Bible: “I am the Alpha and the Omega.” I decided to keep the word Omega and add Apparatus due to the device that grants my main protagonist the power of God. Originally, the name that I chose was “Apparatus Omega,” but I didn’t quite feel it and went back to the drawing board. After several additional attempts, I landed on “The Omega Apparatus” and then just ran with it. The symbol on the cover of the book contains the Greek letters A and O to represent “The Alpha and the Omega” as well as the letters of the title words “Omega and Apparatus.”

  • Are you working on a new writing project you can tell us about?

Indeed! I am currently working on the sequel of The Omega Apparatus. I plan for a Trilogy but I am taking it a step at a time. Since I have my career, hobbies and time for rest, it is coming along a bit slower than the first book. Nonetheless, I plan for it to be just as exciting as The Omega Apparatus, if not more. Additionally, since the title debuted not too long ago, I am awaiting feedback from my audience, which includes close friends and loved ones that have received a copy already. I plan to improve certain aspects of the sequel based on their opinions, critique and ideas. It should be complete by the end of 2026. The second book will be titled thusly: “Babylon A.I.” Perhaps I have already shared too much!
