Europe Books is proud to present “A Kiss in Spring”, a book by Raji Priscilla

Today we talk about A Kiss in Spring, a book by Raji Priscilla published with our publishing house Europe Books.

Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author, Raji Priscilla, to get to know her better, what prompted her to write her book A Kiss in Spring, as well as how she describes her Writing style.

Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!

  • What prompted to the writing of your book?

The book began in a moment of deep vulnerability. My son had been hospitalised after a severe lupus flare, and during those long nights filled with worry and sleeplessness, my mind refused to rest. One night, after finally drifting into an exhausted sleep, I had a vivid, cinematic dream—a full story, characters, emotions, everything waiting to be written. The dream stayed with me, almost insisting I give it form. The next morning, I shared it with my son, and in talking about it, the idea crystallised. I began writing immediately. I started with the characters’ names, because they felt like real people to me, and once they had identities, the scenes, emotions, and dialogue flowed naturally. It took me two months to complete the manuscript and another month refining the emotional continuity, cultural details, and pacing. My goal was simple: to make the story feel intimate and sincere—something readers could step into and feel personally connected to. What began as a coping mechanism during a difficult time became a creative journey that brought healing, purpose, and unexpected joy.

  • What would you like to hear from your readers?

I hope readers feel the depth of love between Priya and Henry—not the dramatic, larger-than-life kind, but the quiet, intentional love that grows between two souls who never expected to find each other. I also hope readers recognise the subtle challenges they face: cultural expectations, family misunderstandings, emotional hesitations, and the unspoken barriers that arise when two worlds try to merge. More than anything, I would love to hear that readers connected with the emotional honesty of the characters—the way they love, lose, hope, and rise again. The story carries moments of heartbreak, but also the triumph that comes when love is chosen despite the obstacles. If readers walk away feeling moved, comforted, or reminded that love—real love—requires bravery and sincerity, then I’ve achieved what I hoped for.

  • How would you describe your Writing style?

My writing style is character-driven and emotionally immersive. I enjoy writing from the perspective of both the hero and heroine because it lets readers understand not only what they do, but why they do it—their thoughts, fears, desires, and contradictions. Dialogue plays a major role in my storytelling. I believe conversations reveal the truest version of a character, so I write with a natural, flowing rhythm that mirrors real human interaction. I also enjoy blending introspection with vivid emotional beats, so readers feel like they are experiencing the moment alongside the characters rather than observing from a distance. Overall, my style is warm, expressive, and rooted in sincerity. I want readers to step into the emotional landscape of each chapter and feel as if the story is unfolding in real time—intimate, heartfelt, and unpretentious.

  • How did it feel to see your debut book published?

It felt fantastic—like a dream becoming tangible. When I first held the printed copy in my hands, I couldn’t find the words. I’m not someone who ever thought of myself as an author, so seeing something that lived in my mind and heart now bound into a book was overwhelming in the best way. There was gratitude, disbelief, humility, and a quiet pride that I rarely allow myself to feel. This book was born during one of the hardest periods of my life, and to see it published felt like witnessing beauty rise out of difficulty. I am especially grateful to God, because I truly believe I was given the story when I needed it most. Writing it carried me through fear and uncertainty. Publishing it felt like closing a painful chapter and stepping into something new—something hopeful.

  • Are you working on a new writing project you can tell us about?

Yes, I am currently working on my next novel, which blends romance, suspense, and emotional depth. The story is titled Echo Nine: The Buried Future, and it centres on Hazelyn Thompson, a brilliant young tech CEO, and Zacariah Anderson, a stoic, complex man with a painful past. Their lives collide unexpectedly during a gala, after which a series of dangerous events unfold, forcing them together in a high-stakes situation filled with tension, danger, and undeniable chemistry. This story explores themes of resilience, grief, identity, and rediscovering love when life has taken unexpected turns. It is more intense in tone than A Kiss in Spring, but it still carries the emotional sincerity and romantic pull that I love writing. I’m excited about how the characters are taking shape—they’re flawed, layered, and full of heart. I look forward to sharing this new world with readers soon.

Europe Books thanks the author, Raji Priscilla, once again for taking the time and answering our questions. We are really pleased to have walked alongside her on the editorial path that led to the publication of her book A Kiss in Spring. We wish her the best of luck for her future works.

To you, my readers, may this story make you reflect on how beautiful it is to be in love despite the challenges and difficulties encountered, whether for trivial reasons or more deeply rooted ones such as cultural differences or family misunderstandings. This, however, shouldn’t discourage the two lovers, but rather give them greater courage to protect their love for one another and never give up on it.

So, my dear reader, all I have to say is to enjoy your reading!

Your editor!
