Europe Books is proud to present “Darion The Blue Hare”, a book by Carlos Gelbert

Today we talk about Darion The Blue Hare, a book by Carlos Gelbert published with our publishing house Europe Books.

Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author Carlos Gelbert to get to know him better, what inspired him to the writing of his book of Darion The Blue Hare, as well as how he describes his Writing style.

Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!

  • Where did you find the inspiration to write this book?

I found my inspiration mostly in the nature around me. Trees and water have always awakened a deep curiosity in me. There is a long, deserted path lined with tall, strong trees that leads to a school. I used to walk there every morning, observing each tree closely, searching for traces of time and change. It was there that I imagined hearing the wind speaking to the branches, encouraging them to sway and rejoice. It was also there that I accidentally encountered a beautiful cactus, which seemed to tell me about its inner worth. And it was there, too, that Darion the Blue Hare asked me a simple but powerful question: “What kind of a man are you?”. Because Carlos was often walking alone, Darion assumed that he was someone who kept himself to himself.

  • What are the crucial themes of your work?

For me, the meaning of a story is of fundamental importance, and I place great emphasis on this. That may be why I chose to write for thoughtful, curious children who enjoy stories with depth—stories that stay with them for a long time. I want to write stories that help the mind and the heart grow. My aim has always been to promote kindness, honesty, and respect for all human beings, regardless of colour, nationality, or background. Darion the Blue Hare is written for children everywhere, in a world where borders matter less and shared values matter more. It offers young readers a gentle guide to understanding themselves, their surroundings, and the beauty of becoming a thoughtful and empathetic human being. Although the book contains magical and symbolic elements, it is not a religious story.

  • What would you like to hear from readers about your book?

Darion the Blue Hare is a collection of five imaginative stories written for thoughtful children, with the purpose of encouraging them to reflect on what truly matters—inner worth, compassion, and the courage to think independently. The book also celebrates friendship, good behaviour toward neighbours, and the care we show to the animals around us. I hope children find adventure that sparks insight. I want them to understand that they should never give up if they want to move forward, and that mistakes or failures should not discourage them. Boys and girls alike should think big, feel deeply, and always be kind. If this message reaches many thoughtful young readers, I will consider myself truly fortunate.

  • How do you describe your writing style?

I tend to write stories with simple meanings, and this is a deliberate choice. In my view, stories with clear meanings can have a strong influence and a lasting effect, and they can even draw children away from television. There is no doubt that big ideas can be expressed through simple words. History has shown us philosophers and leaders who inspired great crowds using plain language. My tales combine gentle fantasy with meaningful life lessons, inviting young readers into a world filled with wonder, friendship, and thoughtful choices.

  • Are you planning to write more books? Can you tell us something about it?

Yes, I am planning to write a novel about a family made up of six grown-ups who are deeply at odds with one another. It is not money, rivalry, or hatred that divides them, but rather the strange and unspoken feelings they hold toward each other. The father, for example, is known for his generous hospitality, yet he is completely deaf to the words and emotions of his daughter.

Europe Books thanks the author Carlos Gelbert once again for taking the time and answering our questions. We are really pleased to have walked alongside him on the editorial path that led to the publication of his book Darion The Blue Hare. We wish him the best of luck for his book and for his future works.

To you, my dear reader, may this collection of stories make you reflect on the important values such as  friendship and respect for all living beings; as well as fighting for what you believe in and always thinking big!

So, my dear reader, all I have to say is to enjoy your reading!

Your Editor!
