Europe Books is proud to present “Flowers in the Storm”, a book by Miss S. Hidden

Today we talk about Flowers in the Storm, a book by Miss S. Hidden published with our publishing house Europe Books.

Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author, Miss S. Hidden, to get to know her better, what prompted her to the writing of her book Flowers in the Storm, as well as how she chose the title of her book.

Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!

  • What prompted you to the writing of your book?

I have always written for myself, but this time I felt that this story had to be read. In fact, it is not just the story of Tom and Ben, but the bonds and connections that make the book magical. It got inside me and, as if driven by a strange energy, I began to write it. Everything flowed naturally from within. When I reread it to correct it, I was amazed. I put myself in the position of a reader rather than a writer and couldn’t wait to finish it, but when I reached the end, I was almost sorry to come to the conclusion. That’s the motivation. To make the reader emotionally involved in the story, to draw them into the pages and between the lines and completely intoxicate them.

  • What characteristics your audience should have to appreciate your book?

The reader of Flowers in the Storm is a soul searching for recognition, like all the protagonists in the story. It is a person who does not stop at the surface but takes all their courage and impulsiveness and dives headlong into the depths of themselves. Because this book is as special as they are. Its enchantment will be my greatest satisfaction.

  • What messages did you want to convey with your book?

When everything seems hopeless, live, feel this abysmal sensation, to the very end, then take each other by the hand and understand that we are the first to know ourselves, and from there look up and feel connections everywhere. The book conveys love… Pure love, an inexhaustible flame that involves and overwhelms only those who let themselves go.

  • How have you decided the title of your book?

The title is a symbolic representation of the two protagonists… Two fragile flowers in the storm… They could be trampled on… But they will support each other, nourished by all the greenery of friends they will meet along the way. Flowers are also the leitmotif of the crime… Flowers that hide something absolutely forbidden. Unaware witnesses to the fruit of violence. Yes, inspired by Baudelaire… Tom and Ben are flowers, but not of evil… Planted in a cynical and indifferent world… But flowers, tender and wonderful.

  • Are you working on a new writing project you can tell us about?

I have finished another inspired book. It came to me after Flowers in the Storm, by chance. It is a modern retelling of the life of Francis of Assisi. I took inspiration from some of his experiences and influences in his life that are little known, to write a story. The life of a group of friends, whose vicissitudes will lead them where they never expected to go.
