Europe Books is proud to present “JUDAKU”, a book by Michael Renaud

Today we talk about JUDAKU, a book by Michael Renaud published with our publishing house Europe Books.

Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author Michael Renaud to get to know him better, what of his personal experience inspired the writing of his book JUDAKU, as well as the experience he had with his first published book.

Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!

  • What of your personal experience inspired the writing of your book?

I joined the U.S. Navy in 1962 at age 20 to see the world and was stationed in Atsugi, Japan at a Naval Air Station. Three days after arriving there I met Akiko Ikehata, a Japanese aristocrat with blood ties to the Imperial family. It was magic the feeling we had for each other from the first hour we met. The chances of this happening was something out of a romance novel.

  • What is the message you would like to convey?

This relationship taught me how two nations who were at war with each other just 18 years prior meant nothing to two young people in love. Parental directives are often disobeyed because love and attraction, lust and desire are more powerful than traditional customs and familial wishes.

  • What resemblances do you see between you and the protagonist of your story?

This is my story about how life in Japan changed my thinking about this incredible country and its people.

  • How was your first publishing experience?

The publishing of my first book with Europe Books was outstanding experience. It taught me how the publishing world can get my story told.

  • Are you working on a new writing project you can tell us about?

Yes, my second book, the continuation of “Judaku” – titled: “Yuzo Kayama” (his genius) In Japan there are those, who achieve success through the accomplishments of others, and then there is one who achieved it all through the genius of himself. “They call him Kayama Yuzo, I call him David.

Europe Books thanks the author Michael Renaud once again for taking the time and answering our questions. We are really pleased to have walked alongside him on the editorial path that led to the publication of his book JUDAKU. We wish him the best of luck for his book and for his future works.

To you, my dear reader, may this book intrigues you and provide you with food for thought which might enrich your perspectives and reflections.

So, my dear reader, all I have to say is to enjoy your reading!

Your Editor!
