- WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO WRITE?
Poetry has a powerful way to express the ups and downs of life, nature and the world we live in. I often feel a surge of electricity to write running through me when contemplating these aspects or when they enter my heart and soul and this drives the creative side of my writing. I have always been inspired to write poetry since I was young, watching others or experiencing pain myself. I feel the exceptional poems come as a gift from somewhere. For example, the end of one poem ‘I know I can reach you high blue sky. I know I can reflect you before I die’.
- WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOUR READERS?
I would like my readers to say that I breath new life into poetry. Also, that it is accessible and understandable but still retains the beauty and magic that is the gift of poems. I hope they can say that they find empathy with what they read for many aspects of their life. Moreover, I hope they will say that they reread the poems often and they become more precious on each read.
- HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WRITING STYLE?
I write in rhyme and free verse using primary images and abstraction. The rhyming poems are more traditional and have a musicality about them. The free verse poems are unrestricted and have a more modern approach, allowing me to enhance my use of imagery.
- HOW DID YOU SEE YOUR BOOK BEING PUBLISHED?
I am fascinated to delve deep into us as humans and see what our purpose here is and what drives our emotions, desires and decisions. I want to share these thoughts with readers through my poetry and the only way to do this is to get published by a European publisher who could promote these poems throughout the world. I would like to translate these poems into many languages as they are universal, starting with Italian which is a language I know and love.
- ARE YOU WORKING ON A NEW WRITING PROJECT?
Yes, I have written a romantic historical novel called
Where no road was marked
A romantic cliffhanger
It has been entered into a competition and I shall know the results in September. It mirrors the religious conflict in the Middle East, allowing me to add the human element to a tragic situation. It offers some intriguing solutions though the story. The dialogue is racy and well written which makes the book easy to read.
