Europe Books is proud to present “WAR IN THE WAY OF GOD”, a book by LUKE ADAMS

Today we talk about WAR IN THE WAY OF GOD, a book by LUKE ADAMS published with our publishing house Europe Books.

Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author LUKE ADAMS to get to know him better, what prompted him to the writing of his book WAR IN THE WAY OF GOD, as well as how he describes his writing style.

Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!

  • What prompted to the writing of your book?

While living in Kenya I became aware of a white middle-class woman who travelled on a South African passport to and from Tanzania and Kenya. She was married to a jihadist who had turned her at Oxbridge into a terrorist. Samantha Lewthwaite had instigated bombings at a US Embassy in Dar es Salaam and the UK Embassy in Nairobi. Hundreds were killed and maimed. Her husband, Germaine Lindsay, was a Jamaican-born suicide bomber in the coordinated London bombings on July 7, 2005, known colloquially as the 7/7 bombings. There were four suicide bombers involved in the 7 July 2005 London bombings all of which died when they detonated their improvised explosive devices. Their explosions killed 52 other people and injured over 700.  Lewthwaite further went on to instigate a hand grenade attack in a bar in Mombasa, killing three and injuring twenty-five. These horrific tragedies inspired my creativity to write my book WAR IN THE WAY OF GOD, which in the Qur’an is described as Qital, an Arabic term used in the Qur’an and Islamic legal tradition that specifically means physical combat, armed conflict, or warfare.

  • What would you like to hear from your readers?

Feedback is always important as it can lead to further creativity. Also I’d really like to hear how they reacted when certain aspects of the book caught their imagination. I laid out specific clues as to what might happen next in certain scenarios and would like to know if they guessed the outcomes beforehand. Most of all did they enjoy it with its twists and turns and hopefully want more of the story?

  • How would you describe your Writing style?

My style took a long time to develop. I tried a more punchy approach to begin with then over time used the type of writing which I think is easy to read and follow and is comfortable on the eye. When I write I can visualise it as if my mind is watching it in a film. That makes it easy for me as I have a very vivid imagination which I’ve had to reign in over the years to some degree.

  • How did it feel to see your book published?

The book took a few years to write and I hope I have learned the craft well enough to gain people’s enjoyment. Because the book is so long I was thinking at one stage to split it into two parts but because of the length it was rejected by several agents so when finally Europe Books accepted my submission I was so pleased all my hard work had been recognised at long last.

  • Are you working on a new writing project you can tell us about?

War In The Way of God finishes in such a way the story demands a sequel to actually finalise the whole process of the culmination of the final result and highest point of the process of hard work after a long time. So I am working on the final part of the story which may take some time.

Europe Books thanks the author LUKE ADAMS once again for taking the time and answering our questions. We are really pleased to have walked alongside him on the editorial path that led to the publication of his book WAR IN THE WAY OF GOD. We wish him the best of luck for his book and for his future works.

To you, my readers, may this book capture your imagination and your desire to read it, leaving you with no wish to put it down.

So, my dear reader, all I have to say is to enjoy your reading!
